Showcase-Glasgow
| “Is it Billy Connolly? Surely it can’t be” That’s what local shoppers in Argyle street in Glasgow were saying. It was none other than our own John Boyd aka Billy Connolly Look-alike presenting a showcase for Blackpool Breaks. John and his wife Deborah were promoting The Blackpool Breaks team who currently bus people from Scotland to Blackpool with holiday packages. The day started a bit quiet with a few people stopping and staring at this uncanny look-alike, and ended up with a frenzy of people wanting autographs and pictures. At one stage the local police had to intervene as the crowds who engulfed John got bigger and bigger, but thankfully it all settled down as people formed an orderly queue for autographs. John and Deborah have been entertaining Scottish holiday makers for years in Blackpool and with their latest showcase in Glasgow they hope to bring more people to this wonderful town of Blackpool for a great holiday experience. John is at present creating a bit of a stir in the entertainment world, and has been approached by a film company to appear in a documentary in 2010. There’s a lot of interest in this guy and we should be seeing a lot more of him in the near future. Watch this space. |
